Canadian Outback Cares

Our team at Canadian Outback Adventures & Events feels it's important to support others as much as we can. This year over 100 organizations will benefit from our "Canadian Outback Cares" initiative.

Caring for the community we live in

At Canadian Outback Adventures & Events we take pride in maintaining a philosophy of social responsibility. The only way to maintain such a philosophy is to ensure that everyone in our company, from the top down, believes that we can make a difference. This is why we started the "Canadian Outback Cares" initiative. Our goal is not only to make donations, but also to shed light on the many important issues and causes we support. Together with some of our most prominent customers, we've made contributions to areas of community importance including youth, education, health, and other social causes.

Bowling for Big Brothers

Bowling for Big Brothers

Big Brothers Big Sisters is a non-profit organization that raises funds to match at-risk youth with mentors. The organization raises money through their “Bowl for Kids Sake” initiative. Friends, family, and colleagues are encouraged to put together a team to fundraise, the proceeds of which benefit local Big Brothers Big Sisters programs.

Canadian Outback Adventures & Events participated in the 2016 Bowl for Big Brothers Classic to raise money for the cause. This year, our team made every effort to bring the awareness for the event to our community, including a BBQ fundraiser. With a theme that focused on team spirit and sportsmanship, our group stepped up to the plate. Dressing up in the uniform of their favourite sport, "Team Outback Cares" received honourable mention for best dressed, all while raising money for this great cause.

Spinal Cord Injury BC's "Bus Stop Hop"

Outback Cares - Spinal Cord Injury BC Bus Stop Hop

"Outback Cares" was recently in action as we partnered with Spinal Cord Injury BC for their "Bus Stop Hop" member event. We designed a custom self-hosted Wild Goose Chase, our digital scavenger hunt using a smartphone app, to help make their event special.

The "Bus Stop Hop" was our first wheelchair accessible urban scavenger hunt.  The objectives of the event were to help differently abled people feel more comfortable taking public transportation in a fun and memorable way. As teammates completed wacky challenges, they captured the moment using our smartphone app, which made the event a huge success.

Building for Kids Charity Golf Classic

Outback Cares - Building for Kids Golf Classic

Thank you to all our participants and sponsors for making the 2011 Annual Building for Kids Charity Golf Classic another great success. Over $160,000 was raised for BC Children's Hospital to help support research programs and purchase state-of-the-art medical equipment.

Over the past 16 years, the Building for Kids Charity Golf Classic has raised in excess of $1 million for BC Children's Hospital. With your help, we can continue to provide the funding necessary to make leading pediatric care accessible to the province's one million children.

Canadian Outback cares about a variety of organizations

Canadian Outback Adventures & Events empowers people through shared experiences of learning, discovery and laughter, to stretch boundaries, challenge assumptions and think differently. We believe that everyone has the ability to feel wonder, about the world around them and in the things they are able to accomplish.

This extends from those who participate in our events and adventures, our customers, suppliers and our employees, all the way to the hundreds of incredible charities we have the pleasure of supporting. Some of these organizations include:

* Whistler Blackcomb Foundation * YWCA Women of Distinction Awards * The Nature Trust of British Columbia * Muscular Dystrophy Canada * Minerva Foundation for BC Women * Big Brothers Bowling * The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society * Alzheimer Society of BC * Variety - The Children's Charity * BC Cancer Foundation * Wildlife Rescue Association of B.C. * PRO Organics Foundation * Covenant House Vancouver * Lions Gate Hospital Foundation * Pitt Meadows Youth Council * Squamish Chamber of Commerce * North Vancouver Outdoor School * Junior Achievement of BC * Lord Tweedsmuir Secondary School * Outreach Africa * Pre-Maternelle Pomme d'Api Preschool *
