It's time to get out on the river and experience the rush everyone is talking about! Whether you’re looking for a mild introduction to white water rafting or an exhilarating wilderness thrill, our professional whitewater rafting guides will ensure you have the time of your life on our Canadian Rockies river rafting adventures near Banff, AB.

We raft 2 different rivers near Banff, AB in the stunning Rocky Mountains: the Kananaskis River and the Horseshoe Canyon on the Bow River. The Kananaksis River and Horseshoe Canyon are located approximately 45 minutes East of Banff and 1 hour West of Calgary making them an ideal choice for visitors and locals of Banff, Canmore, and the Calgary area!

Each Kananaskis and Horseshoe Canyon river rafting adventure includes all the necessary gear and equipment, heated indoor changing rooms, shuttle to and from the river, and scrumptious snacks and beverages at the end of your tour.

Kananaskis River Half Day - Beginner / Intermediate

This river has something to offer every type of rafter. Come enjoy the Class I – III modified and natural rapids. While ideal for first time rafters and family, the Kananaskis River has enough thrills for even a seasoned rafter. You will spend approximately 2 hours surfing, paddling through rapids, and taking in the scenery and history of the Kananaskis Valley. There is also a swim available if you feel brave enough to try this glacier fed river! Enjoy our famous rapids such as Widow-maker, Santa Claus, and the Race Course, while our guides share with you information about the history, flora, fauna and geography of this unique part of the Rocky Mountains. Finish the tour with a beverage, snack, and heated indoor change rooms.

Horseshoe Canyon Half Day - Intermediate

The Bow River through Horseshoe Canyon offers a thrilling white water adventure. Spend approximately 2 hours on this river paddling through Class I – IV rapids and see where Hollywood comes to shoot movies, with its unique geographical features, and stunning views along the canyon. This intermediate river is ideal for those who have rafted before, or beginners with a real sense of adventure! Take on the exciting, rapids of the Canyon, Figure 8, and the Double Ledge, all within a truly spectacular setting. Our experienced guides provide not just excitement, but interpretive information about the geography, flora, fauna and history of the area. Feel free to take part in our cliff jump during suitable water conditions. Participants should be comfortable in water, and have some swimming ability. Enjoy a complimentary snack and beverage (hot chocolate on cooler days), at the end of the tour, while taking in the magnificent scenery from the cliffs above the Bow River, before returning to our heated indoor change rooms.

Kananaskis & Horseshoe Canyon Full Day Adventure - Intermediate

A "must do" whitewater adventure - enjoy the excitement of rafting on two separate rivers in one day! Warm up on the beautiful Kananaskis River where you will experience class I-III man-made and natural rapids. You will spend approximately 2 hours surfing and paddling as you take in the spectacular scenery of the Kananaskis Valley. There is a swim available if you feel brave enough to try the glacier fed water! After a picnic lunch we shuttle you a short 10 minute distance over to Horseshoe Canyon where you will experience the magnificence of this spectacular river with its 200 canyons, thrilling ledges and rapids (class I-IV). See where Hollywood comes to shoot movies, with its stunning views along the canyon. Feel free to take in our cliff jump during suitable water conditions.

For an even more exhilarating twist on your rafting experience, try our Mini Me - a smaller, faster 2-3 person rafting experience, the ultimate whitewater rafting adventure in the Canadian Rockies! Our fully certified guides will take you to the limit of your comfort zone as you experience a whitewater rafting adventure unlike any other tour offered out of Banff. Your rafting trip will take place on the Kananaskis River with the Mini-me putting you in the thick of the action letting you experience whitewater up close and personal. Rafting experience and good swimming ability are a must for this one.

Banff Call of the Wild Full Day Hike and Raft Combo

Follow the Call of the Wild! Start the day off by exploring the incredible beauty of Kananaskis Country located in the magnificent Canadian Rocky Mountains with your professional guide. Breathe in the fresh mountain air as you partake in a 3 - 4 hour hike that can range from easy to energetic (i.e. from exploring a mountain valley to hiking up a mountain ridge depending on groups' skill level). Be captivated by the stories of the history, geography, geology, flora and fauna of the area. Ravenous from your hike, you will stop for a hearty picnic lunch by the Kananaskis River. After lunch you will be transported to the start of the Kananaskis River for your incredible white water rafting experience! Paddle, surf and play in the waves for 2 - 2.5 hours of fun! Finish off your incredible day with a complimentary refreshment and snack - celebrating your Call of the Rocky Mountain Wild!
