Save time and let us plan a memorable event for your group.
The Eagle Glider Construction Challenge is an extremely entertaining and dynamic event for groups of all sizes. People are swept away with enthusiasm as the program progresses. Each person will have a chance to shine while they complete a ongoing selection of challenges as their team's glider is built. Groups need not be industrial design engineers or rocket scientists to do well with this challenge - just willing to play a little bit and take action decisively. The key themes this event focuses on are communication, collaborative presentation skills, teamwork, problem-solving, and strategy.
Participants will be divided into groups of 3-6 people per team for this event. Teams will be responsible for designing, building and testing a functional glider made entirely out of simple raw materials that will be provided. Awards will be presented in a fun and humorous wrap-up after the gliders have soared……or NOT!
Once the glider is built, it will be evaluated in a number of areas including presentation, design, advertising/marketing, cohesiveness and finally, functionality. This means that each team will be launching their glider into our testing facility during the measured distance challenge. Winning the distance title will not guarantee the overall win, but it will be a big factor.

"I really like how you set the stage with the mini exercises (setting up the successes and how do we become successful and the exercise in trusting your partner) before we started the Glider builds. We liked working with individuals we may not work with much in our office environment, understanding and utilizing everyone's skills weak or strong."
"Very well put together event. Our ENTIRE group participated, laughed, and had fun. It worked well for a diverse group like ours. The team was very accommodating and worked within our venue."
- NWR Partnerships
"The facilitator, Joe Britto, was AMAZING! Simply the best - very engaging, and super fun! The facilitator was well versed, and he was super organized. He did well with time management and also kept the people who had to wait entertained by playing extra team building games while they waited."
- Goldcorp Inc.
During the course of the event, teams will have to deal with several curve balls that are not uncommon in the real world, such as, project modifications, staff changes, etc. At the end of the building process, teams will put together a group presentation that will highlight their accomplishments and ‘sell’ their glider to the customer. The event lasts between 3-4 hours with some flexibility depending on venue and desired skills focus.
Following the testing phase, there will be a facilitated debriefing session where the events will be dissected according to the concepts that were learned. This review will be invaluable to knowledge retention following the event. Participants will also have the chance to share what they observed and learned.
Finally, there will be an awards presentation where each team will be recognized for any outstanding elements of their project, and the coveted Eagle Glider Contract will also be given to the winning team. Watch the video:
