Position: Adventure Reservations / Administration, Rafting and FIT Division
Reports to: Tour and Travel Coordinator
Period: Full time, seasonal position (June - August, 2008) | Squamish, BC
Responsibilities & Duties:
- reception of incoming phone calls and emails
- check answering machines for messages
- administration for FIT product sales including accounting, manifest entry, and client pre-departure details
- communication of manifest with appplicable Operations team
- proactive and reactive dissemination of FIT product information to current clients, prospects, resellers, and others
- helping with other duties around the rafting base, including: food preparation, rafting preparation, office duties, and general maintenance
- occasional visits to Whistler hoteliers and concierges to replenish racks and keep concierge staff up to date on our products
- data entry of rafting waivers during down times
Skills & Qualifications:
- high school graduate
- previous administrative support experience required
- previous experience answering calls required
- highly organized with excellent time management and memory skills; able to balance multiple projects, tasks, and priorities with attention to detail and deadlines
- excellent written and verbal communications skills; demonstrates outstanding telephone etiquette
- proficient with all Microsoft applications: Outlook, Word, and Excel
- ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
- demonstrates a professional manner and is able to maintain confidentiality
- personable and confident with individuals at all levels of an organization
- energetic and brings fun to the job
Working Conditions:
- office based, but does require time out in the field around the rafting base
- interruptions from internal and external clients
- required for every weekend during the busy rafting season (June - August)
- flexible work schedule (some weeks Mon/Tues off, some weeks Wed/Thurs off)
Remuneration:
- $2000 per month (June - July - August)

Position: Event Lead Host
Reports to: Operations Coordinator / Events Manager, Western Canada
Full time, seasonal position (April – October)
Responsibilities & Duties:
- assist in the coordination and planning of event logistics
- reserve necessary facilities & supplies
- direct supervision of event hosts on events
- conducting pre event meetings with staff to delegate roles and responsibilities of event hosts
- liaison between client and suppliers to ensure smooth event execution
- open, execute, and close event
- providing detailed feedback from the field
- speak in front of large groups
- willingness to travel
Skills & Qualifications:
- strong leadership skills
- previous experience as an event host is preferred
- calm while under stress and in difficult situations
- ability to work independently and assume responsibility
- valid class V drivers license (class IV preferred)
- basic first-aid
- must have excellent interpersonal skills and have an outgoing, confident personality
- must be able to speak in front of large groups
- ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays and irregular hours

So you want to be a whitewater raft guide? This program is designed as a training program for individuals wishing to obtain a commercial river rafting license. It prepares students to take the examinations (written and practical) required by the Federal Government before issuing a guide license. Quite often we recruit the best and brightest graduates to join our guide roster for the summer. Raft Guide School

May 1 - September 15 2008 (Seasonal Contract Position) | Squamish, BC
Opportunity:
We are looking for 4 to 6 people to fill various driver itineraries throughout the rafting season.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Transportation of clients to/from COA Squamish base (from Vancouver & Whistler)
- River shuttles for all itineraries
- Vehicle maintenance (pre-trip inspections, fuel, cleaning)
- Assist in equipment preparation
- Key member in emergency response procedures and protocols
- Rafting photography
- Assist base staff when necessary
- Perform other duties as they are assigned
- Be prepared to work unusual hours
Requirements:
- Detail oriented and excellent work ethic
- Ability to work independently and assume responsibility
- Strong communicative abilities
- Class 2 drivers license (COA will pay for licensing for select candidates)
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and have an outgoing, confident personality
Remuneration:
- $50.00 - $120.00 per trip depending on trip itinerary
- Opportunity for multiple trips per day
