Communication, creativity and collaboration are required to construct a quality build item for a local charity.
Wheelchairs For Charity is a unique experience that gives your group the opportunity to give back in a fun and meaningful way. Participants complete teamwork challenges, and build wheelchairs for individuals in need.
There are over 20 million people in North America who use a wheelchair every single day. For injured, ill, or disabled individuals, a wheelchair is often their only means of getting around. That’s why Wheelchairs For Charity is such a special group experience. Participants build brand new wheelchairs, test out their functionality, and donate the finished products to deserving members of the community.
Wheelchairs For Charity is an activity that focuses on creativity, communication, collaboration, and caring. Participants work together to complete challenges, learn more about common disabilities, and build a set of wheelchairs to be donated to charity. Your group can help make mobility easier for families and individuals in need. Our team will come to you and modify the program to suit your needs, your venue, or location requirements.
Your team is dynamic, outgoing, and always up for an adventure. You need an extraordinary event that will provide a fun, engaging, and memorable experience that will make a real difference for charity. By combining different elements, challenges, some friendly competition, and a bit of the unexpected, your group will stay motivated throughout the activity.
On the day of the event, a professional facilitator will provide a brief orientation session and clearly lay out how the Wheelchairs For Charity works. Each team will represent a standalone business unit, and be tasked with building and testing a wheelchair for charity.
To earn supplies for their wheelchairs, participants will need to complete challenges that help teach them about different types of impairments and disabilities. They might need to untangle a rope while visually impaired, or put together a jigsaw puzzle without the use of their hands.
Whatever the challenge, your facilitator will highlight teachable moments and relate them directly to the experience of your team. And at the end of the session, your team will donate all the wheelchairs to the local charity of your choice.
