“During our Corporate Castaways event it was wonderful to have everyone actively involved. There was a mix of strength, logic, trivia, and strategy, which created balance in the teams and in everyone’s participation. Since this event brought associates from 11 Milestones locations together, it was a great opportunity to create a social setting for networking. I had feedback that people were afraid of the term “teambuilding” (eg. do I have to close my eyes and fall backwards?) but throughout the day, everyone agreed that it was a great event, a lot of fun, and they trusted each other without feeling pressure. If I may quote Mastercard, I would say the experience was priceless.”

Sesame Street, Amazing Race, OC all on the vacation itinerary
Toronto Sun

If your kids are so glued to TV that even the offer of a vacation won't get them to turn off the tube, how about enticing them with a trip where they can see some small-screen characters or famous show locations?

Call it tele-tourism, where vacations make TV come to life.

Can you tell me how to get to Sesame Street?

At the all-inclusive Beaches Resort, families can do what every Sesame super fan dreams of: Book a Sesame Street room.

From towels to bedspreads and even a bath-time rubber ducky, all that is Sesame reigns supreme. But it doesn't end there. Elmo, Zoe and other beloved Sesame Street characters stroll around the resort interacting with guests. Other activities include a special parade where kids are welcome to join in, a dance session with pretty Zoe and "Elmocizing" with cute Elmo.

Beaches Resorts, located in Jamaica and Turks and Caicos, offer the Sesame Street themed vacations. Contact beaches.com or 1-888-BEACHES.

AMAZING VACATION

"You're the first team to arrive." Maybe you've been dreaming about hearing those words from Amazing Race host Phil Keoghan. Well, the dream can come true, sort of.

While you won't really be on television, families can take part in Amazing Race Whistler in beautiful British Columbia. Canadian Outback Adventures brings the show to life by providing everything needed for a family to enjoy a soft-adventure race that even five-year-olds can join in.

Teams work together to find route markers at all the top Whistler landmarks, and the family that comes in first?

Well, Phil won't be there to greet you, but you do walk away with a prize and bragging rights. Prices range from $49 to $99, plus GST, for the three-hour race.

Experience The OC!

The popular show based in California's Orange County, may have ended but that doesn't mean your teenagers can't relive their favourite moments from the prime-time soap.

Hop on a Southern California Gray Line bus that runs a tour called "The OC Experience." Fans are whisked away to Newport Beach, the "on location" site for the OC. Visitors can drive by huge mansions, belonging to the rich and famous, and catch a glimpse of the lifestyle their favourite OC character may have enjoyed.

Any socialite worth their weight wouldn't dream of leaving Newport Beach without visiting Fashion Island, an open-air oasis of shopping and dining used many times as a back-drop on The OC. Luckily "The OC Experience" stops there: If you and your teen can't afford to buy anything, it's fun to pretend.

Tours cost $45 US for adults while children (3 to 11) pay $37 US. For more information, contact graylineanaheim.com or 1-800-828-6699.
