“Our thanks to you and the gang for making the Eagle Safari trip the success that it was!! EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE WAS PERFECT!!!!! I could rave on and on and still not feel that I've adequately expressed our pleasure and appreciation. The equipment, personnel, care and feeding of clients, etc., ALL deserve brownie points by the bucketful. Our best!!”

The Whistler train meets rafting in BC!

Travel to Vancouver, British Columbia and experience a cosmopolitan city that is considered to be one of the most desirable places to live in the world. As the “Gateway to the Pacific”, Vancouver is a vibrant, modern city that reflects the rich cultural diversity of its people. The Coast Mountains and Pacific Ocean surrounding Vancouver offer an outdoor playground waiting to be discovered. One great way to experience the magnificent outdoor playground and spectacular wildlife of the Vancouver and Whistler B.C. area is with Canadian Outback’s “Raft & Rail” train adventure package.

The intensity of a whitewater experience and pure relaxation of an elegant train ride seems to double a person's distance from jobs, jammed highways, bustling cities, and workaday responsibility. It sharpens all senses, hones your physicality, deepens your ability to fully inhabit a moment, and take delight in the natural world. This year, take the plunge. Live stories worth telling.

Combine this already incredible adventure with our Raft & Dine 2 Day Expedition and/or Heli-Rafting adventures to make a truly world-class adventure or incentive!

"This is an awesome journey from street level in chic, laid-back Vancouver along a beautifully rugged coastline before turning inland and climbing through stunning mountains, past still blue lakes, tumbling rivers and imposing forests up to the lower slopes of Whistler and Blackcomb mountains. It is a smooth, comfortable journey which begins with a hearty breakfast to prepare you for whatever activities you are planning there, whether skiing, shopping or relaxing, and it is a thrilling introduction to inland Canada."

Your Whistler train and rafting itinerary

Day 1

Whistler Mountaineer’s "Coast Classic" or "Glacier Dome" rail service, featuring quality service, extended legroom, unlimited access to the Henry Pickering Open Observation Car and scenic views through large picture windows, will take you from your Vancouver hotel location to North America’s prime resort town, Whistler. Enjoy breakfast on the train during the 3-hour oceanfront route along Vancouver’s impressive North Shore alongside the Howe Sound, Shannon Falls, Squamish, Brackendale, then further on through the Cheakamus Canyon and Brandywine Falls. Once arriving in Whistler, spend the afternoon browsing through shops, or enjoying optional add-on activities such as golfing, ziptrekking, or sightseeing on Whistler Mountain. Along with glacier-fed streams, numerous golf courses and other outdoor activities, Whistler offers a wide selection of excellent fine-dining restaurants to meet every taste. After an outstanding meal, head back to your choice of two partner hotels, an ideal location to rest prior to your exciting rafting adventure tomorrow.

Day 2

Spend the morning cruising around Whistler. At 1:00 PM we'll pick you up in our van shuttle and bring you down to our Adventure Base in time for one of Canada's premiere whitewater rafting adventures (time subject to change based on season and availability). The Squamish and Elaho (EE-la-ho) rivers, located between Vancouver & Whistler British Columbia, provide the backdrop for this extremely popular river rafting journey. We raft these rivers more often than all other outfitters combined, ensuring your experience with us will be the very best possible. This river system offers plenty of challenges for both novice and experienced rafters, allowing you to create an experience you’ll never forget.

Our talented team of professional river guides will transport you from your Whistler hotel location to our Adventure Base in Squamish where they will teach you the skills necessary to maneuver through exciting Class 3-4 rapids including the challenging “Devil’s Elbow” section, used for Mark Burnett's 1996 Eco-Challenge Adventure Race. If you’re up to the challenge depending on water levels you’ll have an opportunity to jump off a cliff high above the river (a Canadian Outback exclusive), swim through rapids, and showcase your cowboy talents in our entertaining “Raft Rodeo” event.

Along with some of North America’s most exhilarating rapids, your 2-3 hour river journey will take you through approximately 16 kms (10 miles) of British Columbia’s most inspiring wilderness. Don’t forget to take time to reconnect with our world-class scenery including old growth forests, dormant volcanoes, towering glaciers, and stunning waterfalls that cascade hundreds of feet toward the river.

After your whitewater rafting adventure enjoy a delicious “Outback” BBQ dinner back at our Adventure Base before we take you back to Vancouver. Our professional team will ensure a secure van shuttle back to your hotel location.

As an avid fan of whitewater rafting I have had the opportunity to book trips through a number of different companies over the years. Your outfit by far provided one of the best rafting experiences I've had. From the trip itself, to the guides and staff, everyone went out of their way to ensure it was a truly memorable day.”
