"This is an awesome journey from street level in chic, laid-back Vancouver along a beautifully rugged coastline before turning inland and climbing through stunning mountains, past still blue lakes, tumbling rivers and imposing forests up to the lower slopes of Whistler and Blackcomb mountains. It is a smooth, comfortable journey which begins with a hearty breakfast to prepare you for whatever activities you are planning there, whether skiing, shopping or relaxing, and it is a thrilling introduction to inland Canada."

Your Itinerary

Day 1

Between 6:45am - 7:15am a representative will pick you up from select downtown Vancouver hotels and shuttle you to the North Vancouver Rocky Mountaineer train station. The train departs at 8:30am. The "Coast Classic" or "Glacier Dome" rail service, features quality service, extended legroom, unlimited access to the Henry Pickering Open Observation Car and scenic views through large picture windows. Enjoy breakfast on the train during the 3.5-hour oceanfront route along Vancouver’s impressive North Shore alongside the Howe Sound, Shannon Falls, Squamish, Brackendale, then further on through the Cheakamus Canyon and Brandywine Falls. Once arriving in Whistler at 11:30am, you will be shuttled into Whistler Village by 12:00pm to spend the afternoon browsing through shops, or enjoying optional add-on activities such as Ziptreking, ATV Tours, Bungee or sightseeing on Whistler Mountain. Along with glacier-fed streams, numerous golf courses and other outdoor activities, Whistler offers a wide selection of excellent fine-dining restaurants to meet every taste. After an outstanding meal, head back to your hotel, an ideal way to rest prior to your exciting rafting adventure tomorrow.

Day 2

After a comfortable night at your hotel, our shuttle driver will pick you up in our rafting van (from select locations only in Whistler) and bring you down to our rafting adventure base in time for one of Canada's premiere whitewater rafting adventures. (Pick up times are subject to changes based on season and availability). The Squamish and Elaho (EE-la-ho) rivers, located south of Whistler, provide the backdrop for this extremely popular river rafting journey. We raft these rivers more often than all other outfitters combined, ensuring your experience with us will be the very best possible. This river system offers plenty of challenges for both novice and experienced rafters, allowing you to create an experience you’ll never forget.

Our talented team of professional river guides will teach you the skills necessary to maneuver through exciting Class 3-4 rapids including the challenging “Devil’s Elbow” section, used for Mark Burnett's 1996 Eco-Challenge Adventure Race. Depending on water levels, you may have the chance to swim through rapids, and showcase your sense of balance in some of your guide's amusing challenges.

"This trip was not only the highlight of our British Columbia trip, but probably one of the funnest and most memorable experiences we've had on ANY trip. From the booking agents, to the young man who picked us up from our hotel, to our river rafting guide, everyone was very professional, super-friendly and knowledgeable. I can't wait to do this trip again and will recommend it to anyone who's going to be in BC."

Along with some of North America’s most exhilarating rapids, your 2 hour river journey will take you through approximately 16 kms (10 miles) of British Columbia’s most inspiring wilderness. Don’t forget to take time to reconnect with our world-class scenery including old growth forests, dormant volcanoes, towering glaciers, and stunning waterfalls that cascade hundreds of feet toward the river.

Remember! Great photos of your trip and souvenir rafting t-shirts are available at the end of your adventure, so be sure to come by our gift shop and ask us. And don’t worry about going hungry, we will re-energize you with a light snack midway through your journey. Following your adventure we’ll take you back to our fully-equipped adventure base where you’ll be able to change back into your own clothes and enjoy our deluxe Outback BBQ meal at no extra cost. A delicious vegetarian meal option is also available.

If safety is a concern, it need not be with Canadian Outback Adventures. Our professional guide team loves running these rivers, and it shows every day. Canadian Outback is a proud member of the BC River Outfitters Association, the leading body for raft guide certification and river outfitter regulation. The day has come to an end and you're ready to head back to your Vancouver accommodation, but don't worry the fun doesn't stop here! You are tired after your exciting day on the river and we have the perfect way to relax on your return journey. Your day ends with a limousine transfer from our base back to your Vancouver downtown accommodation. What a perfect end to a perfect adventure experience with Canadian Outback Adventures and Events.

As an avid fan of whitewater rafting I have had the opportunity to book trips through a number of different companies over the years. Your outfit by far provided one of the best rafting experiences I've had. From the trip itself, to the guides and staff, everyone went out of their way to ensure it was a truly memorable day.”
