There is plenty of quality rock climbing routes for all abilities in the Whistler to Squamish corridor, which make it one of the best destination climbing areas in North America.

Most famous are the long, multi pitch climbing routes on the 650 metre (2145 feet), granite massif; the “Chief”. Splitter cracks, classic finger and hand jams, low angled friction climbs, off-widths, steep face climbs, overhanging jugfests - you name it, we’ll take you to it!

Via Ferrata Glacier Hiking and Mountain Climbing in Whistler

Whistler's most exciting adventure! Experience this unique and exhilarating climbing excursion to the summit of Whistler Peak. "Via Ferrata" is Italian for "Iron Way" and is an engineered vertical pathway with permanently fixed cables for protection and metal ladder rungs to ease your movement over the rock. This tour combines glacier hiking with mountain climbing. Your guide will give you detailed instructions on use of equipment and technique for ascending. Negotiate your way across Whistler glacier using crampons and an ice axe to the base of the Via Ferrata route. Using a special lanyard system you will clip yourself onto the cable and climb the rock headwall using a series of ladder rungs that lead you to the summit of Whistler Peak.

The first of its kind in Canada, Whistler Via Ferrata provides exhilarating views and a vertical perspective you may not have thought possible! Climbing a Via Ferrata does not require any special skills or prior experience. This thrilling activity is suitable for guests of all abilities. All technical equipment is included.

Whether you are new to rock climbing or an experienced climber visiting the area, you will have your own private, professional climbing guide for you or your group. They can introduce you to the local, world-famous rock climbing crags of Squamish, climbing some of the best single pitch routes the area has to offer. There are a variety of climbs to suit everyone’s abilities and desires. Climbing areas are in Squamish unless otherwise requested.

Blackcomb Peak Ascent Rock Climbing in Whistler

Join your guide in an exciting adventure to the top of Blackcomb Mountain via the classic Blackcomb Buttress route. The approach is made easy by using the Whistler Blackcomb ski lifts and a hike to the base of the peak. One of our most popular rock climbing tours! The Buttress provides a mix of scrambling, and low fifth class roped climbing with short cruxes on beautifully featured rock and generous ledges for belays. Exposure increases as the Buttress narrows the higher you climb. You do not need to be an experienced rock climber or mountaineer to tackle this climb. It's an excellent one-day activity to round out anyone's summer visit to Whistler.

Scrambling is adventurous hiking along a mountain ridge combining the use of hand and foot holds to negotiate sections of the trail. Scramble your way to the top of Whistler Mountain on a newly developed scrambling route offering fun, exposure and challenge. Once you reach the top, soak in the spectacular views. This tour is suitable for people of all abilities, ages 10 and up.
